Helpmate in the Christmas Parade!

On November 28, volunteers, staff, Board and friends of Helpmate took advantage of unseasonably warm weather to ride the Asheville Gray Line Trolley in the annual downtown holiday parade.  Participants were greeted by cheers of gratitude from the audience along the route, and the agency collected much needed paper products from parade observers.

ABC local News 13 anchor Sherrill Barber joined the ride during the parade, and interviewed our Child & Family Advocate, Kimberly Webb and Development Director, Ann Flynn.

Our gratitude to Howard Helmken and Jonathan Helmken at Asheville Gray Line Trolley for their kind donation of the Trolley for the parade, to the students of Mrs. Kingsley's class at Hillandale Elementary for their festive wreaths, to FAST SIGNS and Allegra Printing for the Helpmate banners and to Board member Annika Brock for her support in organizing the opportunity.
