Volunteer Spotlight - JENNA SKARDA-HIGGINS
Jenna Skarda-Higgins began volunteering with Helpmate in August 2010 and assisted with reception work and statistical data entry at first. In November of that year, she attended the hotline advocacy training and began taking regular hotline shifts in December.
Jenna has been helping with the hotline from her home on Tuesday evenings for an entire year! She has also continued to offer support with data entry each month. In addition to these types of volunteer service, she has assisted Helpmate with various educational and awareness events. Jenna was also hired as a relief staff member in January of this year and has given many of our staff an opportunity to take some much-needed time off! She has demonstrated a high level of motivation and reliability in all of the roles she fills at Helpmate. Our staff has come to know Jenna as a passionate advocate that is always willing to lend a helping hand to us and those we serve. Since she first started at Helpmate, she has donated over 375 hours of volunteer service! We are so thankful for Jenna and the compassion she shows to our clients.
