Volunteer Spotlight - Linda Kavanaugh
Volunteer Linda Kavanaugh supports residents with her care and concern
Linda Kavanaugh completed Helpmate’s volunteer training in February 2005 and has been an active team member ever since. She began her volunteer service by assisting us with Court Advocacy and then later transitioned into helping primarily with Hotline Advocacy. Linda takes a daytime hotline shift every Monday afternoon as well as a night shift every week. That adds up to 40+ hours that she contributes each month in order to assist callers on our 24-Hour Hotline! Linda is not only a Hotline Advocate, but she was also hired in 2006 to provide relief work. This means that whenever one of our Shelter Team Staff need to take some time off—because of illness, holidays, or vacation time—she fills in for them so that we can keep our Emergency Shelter covered 24/7. She has become well-known for her reliability and passion with both of her advocacy roles at Helpmate. Linda has been an enormous help to the staff at Helpmate and has provided countless hours of support for our clients. Thank you Linda!
